The Boroondara Community Plan (BCP) is Council’s key strategic document includes the Community Vision, 4-year Council Plan and 4-year Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan. The activities and projects funded through the Community Strengthening Grants program reflect its objectives, especially themes 1, 3 and 6. Read more about the BCP and its themes on our website.

Community Arts Venue Grants
The Cultural Facilities Community Access Grants Program provides access to Boroondara’s two cultural facilities, Hawthorn Arts Centre and Kew Court House, for Boroondara-based community groups, arts organisations and artists free of charge and with limited staffing. The program is open to applicants who satisfy the eligibility criteria and is assessed using a competitive grants model. The Program provides eligible applicants with access to a variety of spaces at specific times of the year.

Community Exhibitions at Town Hall Gallery
Town Hall Gallery offers a free exhibition space to local community groups, local and emerging artists and schools to exhibit a series of works to a wide audience. Each exhibition lasts approximately 1 month, there are 12 exhibitions per year.
Boroondara City Lions Club Legacy Eisteddfod Scholarships
Six scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to school-aged children (18 years and under) in the categories of:
The awards are to encourage young musicians to further their progress in music. Awards will be decided based on a written submission outlining their musical endeavours and proposed tutorial program, as well as their broader contribution to school and/or community activities in 2019.
